How Much Better: Vortex Razor HD LHT vs Viper HD

I'm looking for a scope for a lightweight Tikka hunting rifle build I'm putting together. I'm looking for a upper tier optic with HD glass, illuminated reticle, consistent mil adjustments that I can dial up, but also has a good ranging reticle I can hold over distance & wind. Looking at these in current sale pricing, is the 3-15x50mm LHT @ $1100 worth twice what the Viper HD 3-15x44mm costs @$550?

I just bought another LHT 4.5-22 FFP, mil for a tac/hunter rifle, but this will be a pure hunting rig. At the sale price, it's hard not to get the 3-15x50 model, especially how much more I like the reticle! But $500 is A LOT for just liking the reticle better! Is there a real-world difference in the two worth the $500 difference in price?

LHT glass is substantially better, especially in poor conditions. LHT also has better hunting features like capped windage , locking elevation, locking diopter and as noted is lighter. All of those things make it interesting as a hunting scope.

Have you heard about the scope evaluation sub forum?
I've read a ton of reviews, watched a bunch of the videos on the LHT models

I was mostly looking for someone to jump in with, "I regret not spending the $$ for the LHT" or "get the LHT, but the 44mm is better than the 50mm" If I'm being honest, I'm just trying to talk myself into spending for another LHT (or similar)

In any of those reviews, did they evaluate the scope's ability to hold zero?
You should check out the evaluations here: https://rokslide.com/forums/forums/rifle-scope-field-evaluations.133/

To summarize: Whatever else is better or worse about those two scopes, neither is likely to reliably hold zero.

I've owned/used a couple of Viper HD/HST scopes. They were terrible optically and mechanically.
