I'm looking for a scope for a lightweight Tikka hunting rifle build I'm putting together. I'm looking for a upper tier optic with HD glass, illuminated reticle, consistent mil adjustments that I can dial up, but also has a good ranging reticle I can hold over distance & wind. Looking at these in current sale pricing, is the 3-15x50mm LHT @ $1100 worth twice what the Viper HD 3-15x44mm costs @$550?
I just bought another LHT 4.5-22 FFP, mil for a tac/hunter rifle, but this will be a pure hunting rig. At the sale price, it's hard not to get the 3-15x50 model, especially how much more I like the reticle! But $500 is A LOT for just liking the reticle better! Is there a real-world difference in the two worth the $500 difference in price?
