Can confirm 2.45” with 77tmk fits in oregunsmith bottom metal. This exceeds my 2.44” at the lands measurement with that bullet in my chamber.

The 2.45” bottom metal dimension will translate to any bullet. My guess is this will allow you to shoot your 75’s, with your chamber being the variable determining velocity and accuracy, not the DBM.
Nice, that’s quite a bit more COAL than I had found researching them, but that was obviously overlooking the oregunsmith metal.

Thanks again.

Thing I don’t like about the mini:

The action is tiny. It’s a pain to top load. That’s annoying at the range.

It will have zero impact on hunting, where all the upside of tiny comes back into play.

It’s just going to make me get a bottom metal that accepts magazines for high volume range use.

I could see the potential for frustration with hand loads that exceed magazine COAL, and wanting to shoot volume at distance at the range.

But no part of this is surprising or somehow a negative for the gun. Howa didn’t make it for nerdy hand loaders trying to shoot 600 yards. These potential limitations are self inflicted.

If you want speed and heavier .223 bullets, build/wait for the 22 ARC. Or, do what I did and open up the bolt face for the 22 BR. I am running the 80 and 88s in my mini.

I sold a Mini I set up to run the 95s in 6 BRA after I decided to get out of that caliber and reduce the number of guns I am shooting.

Can anyone with the VG Stockys comment if the palm swell and grip location is similar to a KRG Bravo? I am not crazy about the grip on my B&C M40 because I have to really extend my trigger finger. I prefer a vertical grip with shorter reach so I can have a more relaxed trigger finger.

Can’t compare the two stocks. But have the Stocky’s so if you give me a measurement to take I can.

Unfortunately I don't at the moment. I have a Tikka UPR at the house I can take a measurement, or if you can measure from grip handle to trigger, I will compare when I get home.

1.85” from deepest part of trigger curve to face of the grip parallel to that deepest part of trigger curve. I could be off a scooch but should be close.

What bottom metal is best for using magazines?

DIP?
Dip works great for me. I rounded the mag release and shortened it so it is less likely to catch. That is the one bad thing about the mag system. I would switch, and now that there are hinged plates available I may try them.

There may be better. I haven’t stayed up on it.

Put together 6 of them so far and working on a 7th for my ol man for Christmas. All have been VERY accurate after placing in a Stockys and bedding the recoil lugs. The rough actions smooth up considerably after some use. The 7.62x39 stainless barreled actions from Brownells were gems to build off of. Think I may have bought them out 😬. Got one I rebarreled to a 16” .22 ARC from PBB. Maybe my favorite rifle. Last LW 6 ARC I built came in real nice. Weights with suppressor and a without.

So you’re the reason I can’t get a stainless action
