I've done quite a few transactions on this site and have yet to have a bad one. I have also done some with folks who don't have more than 10 posts. I figure that they have to start somewhere, but I am a trusting individual. I also try to bend over backwards to make sure that the buyer is happy. I sold a pack to a canadian fellow ealier this year and he ended up getting hit with duties, or so he said anyway and I split the cost with him. I ended up losing about $200 bucks on the deal, but I had given my word and that still means something to me. I try to live by the golden rule and hope others do as well. That being said, if I am buying I always use paypal and I always pay the fee if they dont.

I have done a bunch of transactions on this and other sites. I have never researched any buyer or seller and have mostly utilized paypal and have had no problems at all.

I have been a member of Rokslide since 2012, however I had never posted anything(this is my first post with the exception of a recent sell). I have enjoyed the site and received a lot of good information. I just completed a sell in the classifieds with the use of PayPal. It was a quick and easy experience . I would not hesitate to buy or sell from the classifieds on this site with the use of PayPal.

I've done about $2k worth of deals here and never had a problem. PayPal is my preferred method of funding deals.

On one deal I sent a DT1 bag, lid and accessories to a member and let him evaluate the items before he paid me. As others have said, there's a level of trust here that I don't typically find on other websites.

Thanks to all for the input!
According to PayPal if the seller sends the buyer a PayPal Invoice
With a description of the item being sold the buyer is indeed covered by PP Protection in the event of misrepresentation or failure to receive the purchased item!

Don't trust PP. I got scammed on a small dollar item ($50) a few years back. I paid, and seller on ebay never delivered. filed a claim, won the claim after about 2.5 moths, I got a credit from PP for like $13.75. Reason being, that was all the seller had in his PP account. Lesson being, PP does not come out of their pocket even with their "buyer protection." If they can take the money from the seller than fine, but the way I see it, if the person is gonna snake you, he will likely empty his account too and you will be left with nothing except for false promise from a dirty hippy company. They may have changed this policy, but I go out of my way to not PP again based on that experience. That being said, Rokslide, Kifaru, and other like-minded forums are not likely to have scammers IMHO. I've bought a few things here and only had good expereinces. As was said earlier, good comms are a tip. I won't repeatedly chase a buyer or seller, not saying they are not good people who are just busy, but that has been my practice and I have yet to get burned from a hunter/gun person.

Most people who do online transactions charge the fee for the paypal protection to the buyer as its the buyer who will be protected and get their money back if the situation turns south.
As a guy whos spent many thousands of dollars online and made as much buying and selling in the past you just have to trust your instincts. And a heavy belief in Karma. Without that youll just drive yourself mad.

Do business on quality forums. Lots of good people in this world and even more so in niche pursuits. I've bought and sold lots on a few forums and have been very happy with the deals. I've certainly worried a bit, but everything has worked out to date.

I can't say enough good things about the vast majority of the outdoorsmen I have dealt with buying and selling on this forum and a few others like it. I try to treat others the way I want to be treated. And I feel that if you try to do right by others that good things will come back you.

I've bought one item on this site and several from other hunting sites. I have used both paypal and usps money orders. I haven't been burned yet. I am a trusting person in general, even more so when dealing with outdoorsmen /hunters.

I made my first purchase from the classifieds forum last week. I definitely had that little voice in my head say 'it's possible I just threw away a hundred bucks'. But PayPal has a resolution center for disputing transactions which actually gives the buyer some options so I went for it. I never received a tracking # which made me a bit nervous and then after several unanswered pm's a bit more nervous. A week later I was sure I'd been scammed then I received the package in the mail...

Knock on wood, I have bought a lot and sold my share on this site. Everybody was easy to deal with and there was good communication. As others have said PP is the best method I have found to transfers money to the U.S. from Canada. I go with my gut on who to trust, so far so good.

Rokslide has been a great place to buy and sell things. its the only site i use anymore for buying and selling.

The only time i got scammed was on LRH hunting forum when i payed for 132 accubond bullets and recieved 32 of those bullets.

I've also had very good luck here on rokslide. Bought a few items on 24hcf as well. I did have one issue over there that has since been resolved after nearly a year.
Has anyone had any luck with making a claim with the PO because of damaged goods?

Never had something get damaged through usps but then again I make sure I pack it appropriately. Way I work that is if I send you something Im responsible for making sure it gets to you in the condition I claimed it was when I shipped it regardless if the Postal Service was the one that jacked it up. So if you buy something from someone and it arrives damaged from Post office then its on the seller to take of that. Its never happened but if I paid money for something and it arrived damaged Id expect the selling party to refund and take it up with the post office. If they do anything less then that, in my mind its bad business and not the way Id want to be treated.

Not saying thats what your situation is but for the sake of the Post and topic its one of my many ways I make sure I keep a buyer happy and make sure they are taken care of.

A feedback forum here might be nice.
The way it would work would be sellers and buyers would receive feed back in a dedicated forum that buyers and sellers could search by user name and find the reviews allowing all to make a wise decision based on users past transactions.
Just a thought

There is already one on Rokslide 300Bee. http://www.rokslide.com/forums/showthread.php?694-Good-guy-list Guess maybe some of you guys havent found it? Hope that helps. I have many honorable mentions =)

I will add that there are many many deals where we just dont even post to it any longer because alot of us who have done alot of trading/buying/selling on here have gotten complacent and dont feel the need. It just becomes a norm that we know each other are good guys and have done so many transactions together that we dont have to enter the info on that good guy list.

Heck I have many guys on here that I would send gear to with a promise to pay 2 weeks later because I know and have dealt with them so much and their word is gold in my book. You know you got a great place when you have many of those types of situations. Ive had guys do the same for me also. Short on Cash I want what you have and dont get paid till next Friday. NP Will send it out tomorrow for you just pay it when you get paid. Of course that only comes with knowing everyone and time.
