How did the 6.5 Creedmoor lose steam so quickly?

What about 6mm creedmoor, still ghey or naw?
I shot 6cm my first year of prs 5 years ago, thought it was good to go fast, learned that lesson. However it's a staple in my safe. I'm using shorter barrels, as long as I can keep the heavy expanding match bullets above 2900fps it's a lethal cartridge for a long ways out. I like 22", as 2920-2950 is a mild load, and if you stand on it, 3000-3050 is doable. 290-300g7 with good velocity and low recoil suppressed, it's dream to shoot. Was breaking in the new 300 norma imp barrel yesterday with a muzzle brake, shooting the 6cm and 6br as well. That big 30 cal sucks ass to shoot compared to the 6s. They'll kill all the same within 600y if you put the bullet where it's supposed to be.

Yep! I just like how almost all the hate came for the 6.5 cm, if you had the 6 cm you were good. Next rifle will 100% be a 6cm or .243

There's nothing wrong with 65 either. Just load 130tmk or 130 eldm hot around 2900 and it does same thing as the 6cm. 140s in that small a case honestly handicaps the 65cm due to lost velocity, especially the 140eld, the bearing surface is almost as long as a 156eol, too much drag, they do kill well tho.

What does PRC stand for? Do I need some secret decoder ring, or is there somethingI don't know?

From the OP:
  • 7mm Precision Rifle Cartridge
  • 7mm PRC

Yeah I try to keep all my shots on game inside of 500 yards so 65 with the heavy 140 or 147 has been fantastic so far, even on short barreled rifles

You mean the 22 Creedmoor? I prefer 22 CM, it sounds bigger.
22cm is a ballistic beast! 88eldm has similar bc as the heavier 6mm bullets, and it's pretty easy to run 3000+ fps from an 18" barrel. I killed several critters with one a few years ago using 75eld at 3150-3200fps and it made em all go night night in very short order.

What metrics and sources are we using to determine it has fallen off a cliff?

Ammo sales?
Rifle sales?

I’m highly skeptical of this. I think we surround ourselves with Internet forums and people that are really into guns/shooting and we naturally talk about what we are thinking about moving into/new. So, we focus more on talking about 6mms right now over 6.5s.

I think if you look at the people you hang out with it is not always an accurate representation of large scale group trends in general. Plus, looking at YouTube is like looking at guns and ammo. Just someone selling you something.
