The 284 case is so well designed and can be great in any caliber flavor. I'm a fan of the straight 284, beats the wind, has great barrel life, tons of great bullets to choose from, tolerable recoil, lots of common powders work well. It's a decent step up from the 7-08 since that case can't push the highest BC 7s fast enough imo.

My favorite rifle is a .284, Chambered for 175, 180 bullets. I'm on the forth barrel it's got 2200 rounds through it and going strong. So I guess I'm a .284 fan.
