Any recommendations for somewhere a little more rustic for some elk hunters passing through? I see all the usual corporate/big name hotels, but would rather stay somewhere a little less citified if possible.

CMon Inn for the location is actually quiet inside even if there are families with kids running around. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is good, and the staff is really nice. It is not hidden away by any means and Is right off the freeway, but it is within walking distance of several restaurants and like BluMtn noted RMEF is a stones throw away. Additionally it is a straight shot south under the freeway into Missoula if you want to eat elsewhere or shop.

Vote #3 for that location

With RMEF and MacKenzie River Pizza within walking distance it's pretty much a no brainer unless you want to be out of town completely.

The cmon in or best western. I run the grant creek trail whenever I’m there. Missoula club is right down the road.

I'm a C'mon Inn guy too. I like the atmosphere. The pool noise quiets down at night.

I also camp at the KOA off Reserve St. if I bring my trailer. Pretty convenient, nice campground for an urban environment.
