Hey fellas, I'll be staying in Yellowstone till Oct. 12th then making my way over to South Dakota in a 40ft fifth wheel. I've never been to the Bighorns, but have heard great things. Currently researching for a 5-7 day stay to do some trail riding and fishing. This will be totally weather dependent. I'll call it off if heavy snow, etc. Any OHV trails you guys recommend in the area? My SxS is 60" and street legal.

Looks like my main options are to take the 14 up to Burgess Junction or disperse camp somewhere off the 16. Wife and kids prefer big open landscapes, rather than more technical trail riding.

Mountains will be busy with hunting seasons, you may find lots of folks up there and camping spots taken.

Definitely don’t want to mess up anyone’s hunts. Last I checked I thought the timing was splitting seasons, looks like most start the 15th though. So maybe just a day or two ride around on the main trails.

There will be plenty of folks just riding around too but camp sites may get chosen for hunting season weeks before you get there. Should be spots to camp but the best will be taken I'm betting.

Pretty country, enjoy it.

Miles and miles of trails to ride up there and very few are limited to 50" and under so you'll be fine with your SXS. As for hunters they tend to setup their camps prior to the season starting just to get good spots. As far as driving the trails during hunting season don't worry about it, there will be many others doing the same thing. Any true hunter will be a ways off trail so it shouldn't bother them.
