Hornady CX?

I've been impressed with the 80gr CX from a 243 so far. Three whitetails and a boar hog. All pass throughs.

That’s good to hear. I just built a 6mm creedmoor and picked up a box of those. Hoping they do well for deer with the kids. Plus I get to use it for coyotes and tell the wife it’s for the kids haha

My youngest son shot his cow elk last year using the 80 grain CX out of a 243. 42 yard shot went through both shoulders and found the bullet in the exit side hide. Still weighing 79.7 grains and perfect performance

Now that’s impressive. A lot of people talk trash about the mono’s but I don’t hunt with anything else.

No experience with the CX yet. But the 80gr is on the list for my wive’s 243win.

Not to turn your thread around on you. But which TSX have you used?

I haven’t personally used the TSX on game. Worked up a 200gr TSX load for a 30-06 but never took a shot on game with it. I’ve shot game with all the other ones such as TTSX and LRX. Obviously they are very similar projectiles and I assume they would perform just as well but I haven’t technically took game with the TSX. It’s hard to beat the performance of a Barnes bullet. I would prob still be running the LRX’s if the CX had not shot better.

I believe the key with monos is the speed. Shooting a higher projectile than you normally would is key.

I had shot an aoudad at 350 yards in West Texas in the Chianti's in 2020 with a 150 grain .308 bullet in a 300 Winchester with a 28 inch proof barrel. Chronograph at over 3400 FPS at the muzzle.

This was a TTSX.

I could not get the Hornady GMX to shoot as well.

140 Hornady CX. Only sold in Europe and in TAP ammo.

I'm guessing those were probably 130gr? Hornady published load data -- just ordered some Superformance to try.

No, they are 140 grain. I am 100% sure on this. They have the donut shaped polymer tip

Intriguing -- got any info on the projectile? I can't find a 140 gr CX in any caliber.
