Who are you ordering sample packs from?

I have some of these I can send you. Maybe trade for some LRX or something?
That's a great offer. I appreciate it. I ordered sample paks from Ideal Load. They took my money so I hope they deliver the order! Oh, and I'm out of the LRX's. Shot them all up!

Have you checked if the mag box is binding? In other words, when you torque the action screws, is there any play in the box?

There should be some movement in the mag box when things are buttoned up tight.
Just checked that. The mag box had slid up to meet the action, but it wasn't bound. Apparently there is enough room that the box can slide up and out of position even with the action screws torqued down. I hope I explained that correctly. I put the box back down into the floorplate frame, and I'll try things again. I highly doubt that was an issue, but you never know. Gotta eliminate one variable at a time.

I’ve had to shorten my share of them. Remington, Winchester, and Kimber. Have had a few lugs bottom out in the bedding as well, and rear tangs wonky. Not sure the lug configuration on Howa.

Pretty much why I only Tikka now....

If it’s stringing that perfectly and consistently I’d guess the scope internals or mount is not holding. Try screwing the windage way out (so there is the least pressure on the spring) and aim where you will still land on paper. See if you get anything different.

Tried a different scope yesterday. Didn't change things. At this point, I think that particular barrel just doesn't like 140's. It doesn't do this with 120's or my 145 LRX's.

Did you get anywhere with this? Guess what happened to me? Same thing! Tight vertical, 1.5 horizontal. With powder shortages I'm not looking to shoot 100 rounds before I even get my load dialed. I'm happy with the ES, velocity, and vertical, just need to tighten up the side to side some.

Since you've ruled out the optics, I feel like the next two items are either heat or harmonics. Waiting 5 minutes will pull most of the heat out, but if the pattern is "walking" that suggests something is heating up, expanding and pushing on your barrel.

I'd also try different powder charges to see if you can make it better or worse.

Yea, I sold it. :D It was really a fine gun with a superb stock, and it shot 120's and 145 LRX's just fine. I was just nitpicking I guess.
