I have done research on here, but does anybody have strong preference for one over the other? If so why?

I am trying to get on the books with Yellowstone and they are jammed full. On the back up list and trying to get on for 2030.
Dang. 2030?!? They must have a good reputation if they are that booked out. Jeez, I thought waiting 2 years for a NBR Hunt was rough enough ha.

Thorofare is an amazing place..
Have you narrowed your decision down to just these two outfits?

Don't know about either of those, but I'm booked with Traingle X for this fall. Constant Quest and Triangle X seem to generally be the most favorably reviewed, so probably worth adding to your outfitter list.

I’ve never hunted with Yellowstone but I have leased horses from them for about 13 years. The can certainly say that they are very nice knowledgeable honest hard working people. I’ve seen some monster bulls in the barn when I returned horses.

In my opinion, it’s about integrity. Everyone has horses and guides and everyone will feed you. Find the best people you can to spend a week hunting with.

I talked to the owner of Yellowstone a couple of years ago, I believe Madden is his name. Seemed like a great guy, told me they were 30 for 30 on his hunts. I could have booked for four years out but decided against it, I heard they were booked 8 years out, more for first and last weeks. He does well and his reputation precedes him! Get in if you can, he seemed like an honest guy and straight shooter!

Brandon Kunz is the owner of Yellowstone now. He grew up in the business, and took it over from Lynn few years ago. Lynn is still involved, but the actual business is ran by Brandon and his wife. The horse rental business is entirely separate from the outfitting side now adays. Chad runs the rentals.

I hunted with Constant Quest in’21 and had a great hunt. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. I’m also booked with Yellowstone in ‘27. My research told me they were the two best choices. CQ comes in from the east and hunts the upper Thorofare and Yellowstone comes from the south and hunts the lower Thorofare. I’d decided where you want to hunt and pick accordingly. Good luck!

I’ve hunted CQ and Hidden Creek both in the past 4 yrs. We went 4-4 and 3-3 at HC. Being able to stay at the lodge with CQ is pretty convenient with an onsite rifle range but adds a few hundred.

Agreed.
I wasn't real sure about the option of staying at the ranch before and after the hunt with CQ, but after doing it this past year it really adds to the enjoyment and convenience. Well worth it in my opinion. I also let their butcher bone out and quick freeze my meat overnight and was ready to hit the road next morning. It sure beat me doing it on my tailgate like I normally have to 😅
