Thorofare fishing

I am elk hunting with Yellowstone Outfitters the last week of September. With that said, if I am fortunate enough to harvest a bull early in the hunt, would it be worth my while to bring along a small spinning reel and fish along the Yellowstone or maybe venture to Bridger Lake? I ask because I have been told the fishing is not very good in that area of the Thorofare like it once was.

Ernest Hemingway's son Jack parachuted into France with a fly rod on his back. I'd say you could afford the inconvenience for a chance at a fish.

I haven't been into Bridger lake in several years but the fishing used to be phenomenal. Not sure why it still wouldn't be

Agree. If you think you can get to Bridget Lake do it. If not, the Yellowstone in that area is not very good, nor is the Thorofare River.
