And to think I have to use hemostats and nippers to tie on a small fly.
You probably use vice grips and dikes.
And you will probably fill the freezer in one trip. Good luck.

IDK about that. I kinda miss 6x tippet and #20 (hell, even 22 and 24), dry flies. I can’t even remember the last time I threw a 4 wt., and that’s a damn shame!

You get out there and do it TB! Grayling on a 4wt is some of my favorite fishing...I just put my rod in the truck for an extended weekend trip.

Best of luck Panhandler...nice work!

Fishing is fishing! I love all of it. From a stream, to a farm pond, to inshore to Bluewater. Bring it on! Hell, I sometimes stay too long catching bait because I’m having too much fun.

This trip next weekend yellowfin will be target species. Will be trying some new techniques which is always exciting. Still dialing in some rigs. Also need to make up some overnight sword rigs. Will be fishing between 90 miles and 130 miles offshore. If nothing else I’ll learn something!

I took the grandson out on a six pack boat out of Long Beach, Ca. Original booked as a White Sea bass trip, but they have been a no show at Catalina island so we went out to San Clemente and had a nice day of Cal. yellow tail fishing. One guy bailed at the last minute so just the five of us. We ended the trip with 14 real nice grade YT, 22 thru 30 lbs. Grandson got three I got two. Last one I got, got into a big kelp paddy, I was sure I lost him and ended up fighting the paddy all the way back to the boat and much to everyone surprise he was still there. It30101435322350.jpeg took some doing to get him out of kelp but we finally got him on the deck. After looking at my fluro leader I was even more surprised about putting him on the deck. The kelp had really nicked up the line.

I tested out the green stick in the bay yesterday. Nobody was hurt but damn sure about killed two pontoon boaters.

Rigging looked good. Hard to make them dance in slick conditions, but I think I can work with this. 42AC7299-AF10-4AC7-8671-DAA5CB862A9B.jpeg5757B856-A5DB-4EB7-B14E-538FCCC9D35B.jpegEFF441DC-C58A-489E-8C52-ED2F7109D666.jpeg48F1FFCC-1CBE-47CE-A0CB-4222F1A0E48E.jpeg
