Hi all,

I've been trying to decide between a Henry All-Weather and a Marlin trapper in .45-70. online I found some stories about issues with the loading tube on there Henry freezing up or sticking. Can anybody confirm it deny? Anybody have experience with both and can help me decide?

God bless,
Tim

The 1st gen Henry 45-70 had a different band at the end of the tube to bind it to the barrel... those had some issues. The newest ones have been GTG of the many I’ve been around. I was in your shoes back when marlin was going through their lowest point and bought a Henry (after being a longtime marlin nut). The newest marlins seem better but still not as good as pre-freedom group. Between the two I’d still go Henry unless you do a lot of reloading off horseback

Same story here.

The redesign changed it all and now they are a solid rifle that I wouldn't stress about feed issues.
