I have a Mesa Altitude on my Tikka. Was going to go with Stockys but didnt want to wait, needed that instant gratification!

How are the VG’s performing under recoil with muzzle flip? I have a Mesa on my 7-08 and it’s been a non issue but with my 7prc it is much more noticeable. I’m curious as to how the VG does, as well as the EH1 in comparison.

I won’t be able to answer that for you. I’m waiting on my 6creed barrel and will be shooting it suppressed — so there won’t be much recoil to speak of.

Understood. In theory they seem to be a better design for muzzle flip. And when compared to the eh1 they are hard to ignore for the price.

Thought I would add to this discussion again. I got my Stockys VG2 in but haven’t gotten it all put together yet. It’s super light as you can see from scale compared to the OEM factory stock. Still waiting on my barrel to arrive to get it all put together. I’ll update once I get it installed. Stocky’s with the supplied Mountain Tactical recoil lug installed is spot on at 23oz. 3345B790-375E-46CB-BB06-CA5F04A13F2E.jpegAF416DD1-C764-4553-90A8-E3C961845E1C.jpeg

Mine was like 22.7 oz but that was because they didn’t send the recoil lug — so they seem really consistent in weight.

What do you think of the reach to the trigger? It’s long for me

Not sure as I haven’t put the trigger and action in it yet to try it out. The only complaint so far I can see is the rear sling stud seems like it’s not fully centered on the stock and kinda protrudes more than it should. I’m questioning how much I actually would trust it when I have a sling attached.

I did just purchase the upgraded mountain tactical bottom metal and mag to see how it works compared to the factory option. Won’t be here until next week.

The forearm on the stockys looks insanely short to me does it feel that way offhand?

It's 1.75" shorter than factory. I find my index finger lays right up against the front swivel stud. For reference I'm 6' tall with a 31.5" draw. The stock feels shorter but not in a bad way. The LOP doesn't feel anywhere near as short as a Kimber hunter but I haven't put a tape on it yet.
