Ok guys Ive narrowed my choice down to either the Browning X-Bolt Hells Canyon Long Range or the X-Bolt Max Long Range. The rifle will be chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and I will be picking it up tomorrow. Which one do you guys suggest? This will be used mainly for hunting but would also like to do some target shooting with it as well. Do you think the Max Long Range is to bulky to be considered a hunting or tree stand rifle?

So I just went through this same decision! I've been waiting for a 6.5 prc in either model. Ive handled both rigs prior to my decision and went with the hells canyon long range. The biggest factor for me was weight, mine like yours will mainly be a hunting rig and the extra pound of weight of the Max didnt sound appealing. After scope, rings and bipod mine weighs 9.9 pounds unloaded. 7.5 pounds of that are rifle only. Either one will shoot MOA or less so the question really is, will the adjustable stock be worth the extra pound?

That was exactly what I was thinking. Weight was definitely a concern. I first thought I would go with the Hell's Canyon Speed but I liked the longer heavier barrel on the Hell's Canyon Long Range. Thanks for your comment.

No problem, mine is set up with Browning (Talley) low rings, leupold vx6hd 3-18x44 and Atlas bipod to come up with the 9.9 pounds.

So without the bipod I should be able to get below 9 pounds? I think that will be a good weight that's not to heavy to carry but heavy enough to help with accuracy. I'm also thinking about going with a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44 and will be using Warne Mountain Tech base and rings.

I went with the Hells Canyon Long Range. I liked the feel of the stock better for my type of hunting and really liked not having to carry the extra weight. Thanks again for all of your help. I hope to get a scope put on it tomorrow. I'm going to put a Vortex Viper HS 4-16 X 50 on it for now (because I already have it) and I'll probably get a Leopold VX 5 HD for it later.

I’ve seen the hmr bergara’s shoot very well at local bench matches but haven’t seen the Hells canyon personally. I’ve seen ruger has a new long range rifle Coming out too that will prob be a shooter.

I got the scope mounted today. I used Warne Mountain Tech picatinny base and medium rings. It weighs 8 pounds 12 ounces. Ordered some low rings today to get the scope as low as possible. I'll let you know how it shoots.

How does it shoot Hulions? I got my powder the other day so I'm gonna start working up a load this weekend.

I’m haven’t had a chance to shoot it. I’ve got the scope mounted and the barrel cleaned. I’m going to get a trigger gauge and get it adjusted before I take it to the range. It feels a little heavy to me.
