    Now I'm wondering if we made the wrong choice given the winter. That being said, the herds will be impacted for years and my dad isn't getting any younger so I could also see the argument for just giving it our best shot and maybe hunter pressure will be lighter.

    Thanks for offering to chat unit 44 Mule Deer. My dad banked 30ish points for elk and deer while we hunted OTC elk in the south part of the state. We always did well but never went after the trophy for either species. Decided this year that the NW corner of the state was too risky for elk so made a last minute change up to 44 for deer.

    Hey,
    Just found your post. Did your dad draw for 4th season deer this year? I will be hunting the unit for my grey ghost giant this year (well less than a month). Have you been through the unit? Any help you may need feel free to reach out, I am definitely willing to do what I can. I will be in the area for a few days prior to the beginning of the season and I hope to make a quick trip in the next few days.
