Yeah I love the Zebra Jeff. Got my PD35 by Fenix too. Man that thing is a spotlight. Enjoying a 90$ Flashlight I paid 21$ for. Really cant ask for much better deal there. Only uses 1 Double A high output so the Zebra and Fenix both use the same batteries. Definite plus!

I was under the impression guys carry 2 headlamps for different purposes rather than for backup. I carry 2 small LED's for back up and I've done a complete hike out with one once when there was no moonlight.

I carry two headlamps to satisfy both purposes you mentioned. Both of my Zebralight headlamps (H600 & H502) weigh in at only 5.13 ounces total, with a single battery installed in each.

Partial flood, partial spot. It's perfect. Wall of light for 30ish yards and spot that will let you see out to about 100 yards (all at the same time of course). It's like walking in the daytime at night but 1,100 lumens will do that. :)

I run the zebralight with the neutral tint and diffused lense, max output is over 1k lumens. IMO it's worth buying a couple of quality 18650 cells and a charger vs using crappy lights and disposable batteries, once you have the cells and charger you'll find a reason to buy a quality torch as well.

Curious if the bigger 18650 sized Zebra headlamps (like Slim's above) feel too heavy for the headband? I thought I had read that they tend to want to droop down due to weight...

Also, why is just about everything on backorder? Been wanting to order one of these for the last few months!

I just got a Spark SG5, runs on 1 AA. comes a flood headlamp but you can buy an additional lens to turn it into a regular beamed light. The light looks identical to the Zebras with an aluminum housing, water resistant with a rubber o-ring on the battery cap, head band, and a pocket clip. I have not used it yet but it seems to be built right should be a good light. http://www.sbflashlights.com/Spark-Headlamps-c22/

At around 3oz with batt you don't feel the weight of the 600 series or I don't.

How many hours of run time are you guys getting out of the Zebra?

Never really kept track, when using the big 600 and my 51 I have not had to have an extra batt for the 600 and have only had to change out the batt once on a 10 day hunt on the other but I don't use them for hours a day either.

Yes, they are redesigning almost the whole line, and building a facility in Texas for USA manufacturing!!!

I am a dealer for them and have been waiting for my first shipment for several weeks!!!
