Harbor freight Apache gun cases

Nice looking cases. Might be stopping tomorrow to see if my local store has them or if they would need ordered.

I took mine to AK this year and it was excellent. I agree with everyone else in the foam inserts being garbage, but it’ll hold a pile of stuff once you toss those.

The holes for locks are 1/4” diameter and 7/8” shackle length. Longer shackle lengths will allow enough room to open the case once the clasps are opened up. You can’t pry it open with these.

My brother has one and I compared it to my Pelican case and its the exact same case except for a couple of very small things. Basically cosmetic design items. For the money I don't see how you can beat it. I ended up getting one.

Any possibility of someone measuring the internal dimensions WITHOUT the foam for me?

LxWxH?? Thanks.

Now that Colorado passed a law that requires all guns to be in a locked case in the vehicle (I assume that means "unattended" vehicles), I'll need to have mine locked up so that the thieves can more easily just grab the rifle case of two, instead of individual rifles. Heck of a law, this is akin to the CO "puffing" law........punish the every day citizens while allowing the criminals to do whatever the heck they want.

I’ve gotten 3 in the past several years for 79-99. They’ve served me well traveling. As previously mentioned the foam is trash but you can order replacement or just use garments like many of us do.

does someone know the vendor that sells replacement foam. it was posted on here a while ago and trying to find it. not eBay or Amazon and I don't think it was 9800 specific

I found this site. Not sure if it's the one you're looking for. If there are others please post as I too am looking. Thanks.

Harbor Freight actually sells the replacement foam online. Someone provided the specific link to it earlier, but I can't find it.

I'm sure if you go to the HF website and do a search, it will come up.

As many have said (and I agree), the foam it comes with is really cheap. Some have tried using the plastic dip method to help reinforce it and to keep it from falling apart, but do yourself a favor and do what I did.

I went to this site and bought some layered foam. It is a different closed-cell type foam. Not sure what it is called but it is a hundred times better and very easy to make custom cutouts.

You can also find it on Amazon.
