We recently had to make the tough decision to rehome our 3 year old Drahthaar this year. I’m no way ready to take on a new pup anytime soon, but wanted to due my new diligence in finding a reputable Breeder and waiting for the right litter. Any recommendations on GWP or WPG breeders out West would be greatly appreciated.

How far west are you looking? Misty Klug at Muddy Paws Wires in Maxwell, Nebraska does a great job. Got my last pup from her, getting another from her soon. I can give you more detailed feedback if needed.

Bone Point Kennels in Oregon seems to put out some good wirehairs, but I'm just looking at pedigrees and test results and haven't talked to them directly.

Bone point is pretty hard to beat..

If you just upland, get a setter.. way easier to deal with day to day..

Owned both.

I'll probably come off as the ass here. But those 3 breeds are one in the same from someone who doesn't "know" the German breeds. Whatever you issue with your other dog your going to have a high likelihood of running into the same issues.
