Most saddle scabbards, carried on the right side - forward tend to collect snow. After looking at the problem for a number of seasons, I designed a modification that gives a tight seal around the pistol grip. I have pattern I will share. You can sew it on with a speedy stitcher awl or have your favorite shoe repair guy cut it out of 10oz latigo and sew it to fit your rifle. I have made them for 6-8 differant scabbards. Send me a pm with your address and I will mail the pattern.

Heres my current setup. But they only last 2 years and fall apart. Unreal protection but uncomfortable. 10000s of miles using theses for last 15 years. But thinking of a leather one more compact. But they all seem to b open ended. enclosed is much better for my terrain Any one know options for leather with full enclosure like trailmax

I like this one but would need to build a waterproof top

Murray Leather in TX makes a fully enclosed leather scabbard that can be made to accommodate a 26” barrel
