Its all good. Yes agreed on CCW being for loaded handguns only. I said off the bat the gun free zones are not something enforced but technically its there at the federal level and IF the feds have a reason they want to screw you over its there on the books. I concur the likelihood is very low. I just like to make sure folks are aware because I never was before and most folks aren't still.
In general I take the better safe than sorry approach when I leave the state with guns. A ziptied shut case (soft or hard) is cheap/easy and counts as locked for the long drives with guns on board. All it takes is some sort of overzealous incident and one could loose their gun rights, cheap insurance.
