No, it's just very easy for me to separate the two, and the logical side is not emotional, and the emotional side is not logical.
I think EXACTLY the same. However, personally I strive to be more empathetic of others. I'm not saying you aren't, I'm talking about myself.

Its easy to look at the examples of people acting like idiots. The media and if we are honest ourselves included are all to quick to broadcast it. However what we fail to do is be as vocal and visual about all the kind, good and genuine acts the go on unheralded ever day.

More than 11 Billion fear mongering news articles and counting. Our culture is still struggling with the information age. Eventually I'm pretty sure we'll get it right, but right now we are easily manipulated, and a lot of it is by AI programmed to generate traffic with absolutely no regard for the consequences.

Plus Trump. The news media will do anything in their power to turn this into some sort of hit piece on Trump. And we see it every day.

Here is a good description of why staying inside and social distancing is important...surprisingly from the Washington Post...

Yes, which is why we will do better than Italy or Korea. Korea is half the size of wa state with 51 million people...they simply can’t distance themselves. Neither can Hubei China. The us has 7x the people over 95x the area. We are intrinsically setup for a better result.

it Looks like I may be stuck with a bunch of Girl Scout cookies. The Girl Scouts closed site sales due to this “CRISIS “ and my daughter was scheduled for 6 sites and had stocked up on cookies. I may be needing some toilet paper later 😁😁😁
Girl Scout cookies are like gold, easily traded 😁

Except places like NYC, where the Mayor is refusing to close the school system despite pleas from the state and city health organizations. Gonna be interesting to watch the spread of the virus there...

In some ways yes. South Korea was a lot faster and more aggressive than we were with social distancing. They also have more hospital beds per capita then we do. And they tested/quarantined way more people, faster. Personally given the death toll in the US I think it’s much more widespread than we know, and probably we will do worse than South Korea but hopefully better than Italy. I think we will find out in the coming weeks what our situation is.

Oh man, shelves are empty! I'd quintuple prices, tell her "daddy's loves you" and get back out there on your own. Set records.

Our kids school closed, mayor had nothing to do with it. It was a school board decision. Wonder what is different there?

Well its a whole lot easier to "social distance" with considerably small populations of people around you. 1918 population of Philly: 2 million. St Louis not even 700,000. Stupid example. I get the idea but just feeding into the media and their agenda.

Is the media forcing you to bring people into your home?

Wife just got back from the store. No Armageddon here. Bought all the normal stuff. Could have bought tp but passed because we didn't need it. They also had lysol wipes, hand sanitizer and other cleaning products.

The store has set a policy of no more than 3 of anything cleaning or sanitizing related. She did try to buy 4 boxes of cleanex because they were 4 for $5. Only to be denied one at the register.

I am a little proud of our midsized suburb that has 1 case of CV at a local business for not full on panicking.

My area of Orlando seemed to have the panic attack Wed-Friday, some on Saturday. Today is a nice relaxing day - folks out enjoying the low 80s and sunshine. You'd never know that they'd have attacked you for TP just 2 days ago.

Just got back to Idaho from FL

We’ll see how it’s going here as we’ve been gone for a week.

I get it maybe it’s a smidge worse than the regular ol flu but the media and people’s knee jerk reaction to panic makes me very nervous.
it also seems there is no way to get clear info without all the fear mongering click bait articles and too many people have watched Armageddon like movies to keep a calm level head and think through the problems in front of them.

We’ve got 3 young boys take care of and I just cringe at the fact that I have to bring them up in this kind of panicked, half cocked society but hopefully I’ll raise them to be leaders that think for themselves and not cowards that let someone else tell them what to think
