Great podcast. I'm not a bow hunter so many times I find the discussion topic doesn't apply to me - but much of it is still interesting.

I definitely prefer the backcountry tactics and gear discussions more than personality interviews.

I'd listen more often if the episodes were shorter and more on-topic too.

Meateater Podcast is another good one. Rinella spends a lot of time in interviews and shooting the shit, but he usually has three or four people involved in the discussion which carries the conversation more and tends to make it more entertaining to me.

Ok, thanks for the help. I have the Podbean app on my Android. The next question is how do I download an episode to my phone. Most place I go, I don't have service. I went to Podbean on my laptop to figure it out but no luck. I was thnking I need to plug my phone into my computer and download from there?

I am new to backpack hunting so I have been podcast binge, trying to learn about gear and what I might need. So they have some VERY good podcast about gear which has been great for a guy like me. Pretty good over all, the only thing I would suggest is work on the intro. The annoying editing beep in between each clip is very annoying and some of the intro's are over 2 mins long. Keep it short and lets get to the good stuff.

Thanks,
Boswell

When you are somewhere with WiFi, download the podcasts to your phone. I'm not sure how it works with podbean, I use podcast republic and they go right to my app.

This podcast has definitely helped me prepare myself for going out west for a hunt. I also don't listen to every single episode, but every one I have has had info regardless of the topic.

Something that I noticed other genres of podcasts do is "theme days" (for lack of a better term) where say it could be Mondays are gear, Tuesdays are interviews, Wednesdays physical training, etc. Either way I will still be listening!

One of the better podcasts out there ...I used to listen to every episode but now only listen to the ones with Aron and Corey Jacobson unless there is a guest I find interesting. Keep up the good work....

i think they do a great job, the only thing that ever bothers me is when Brian interrupts a guest, sometimes he just needs to let them finish their thought. my only critic, Aron is the man, he can say whatever he wants, he is real and his blatant honesty is refreshing.

I listened to 3 podcasts while driving tonight. I like the effort and this it's a good idea, but I think it needs some cleaning up. He isn't very clear or concise in his thoughts a lot of the time, and he has a horrible problem of interrupting and dumbing down some of the comments from the guest speakers.

Just watched the video of them at rei. Not sure I got much out of two guys meeting up and trying sleeping pads but enjoyed it for some reason. My recent favorite was with Zach Griffith. Interesting guy from a different background.

I didn't get much out of it either.....they didn't have the pad I wanted, so I'm still using my old one :)

That's funny right there.

I liked the vlog entry from rei. I don't always have to learn something. I mainly watch tv (YouTube) to be entertained and that was entertaining.

We get tons of emails asking to see day to day type stuff, so we're trying to get some of the normal "non informational" lifestyle videos up as well.

Was that the rei on south Wadsworth? Their pad selection hasn't been good all year

I just found this on YouTube and I love it! I like the the intro with the Scott's man saying this is the gritty bowman and the born and raised outdoors hillbilly intro is funny too. I listened to episode after episode instead of the radio on the drive for my last hunt. Aaron, have you guys done an episode on boots/shoes for different applications and seasons? Maybe you have and I am just forgetting.

You can get how to on 10000 other podcasts. I much prefer podcasts talking about hunting than telling you how to hunt.

There's only a few episodes of GB that haven't interested me...but I always end up listening anyway.

I'm not insulting gritty bowmen and I still enjoy listening in during my work day, but does it seem like it has turned into more of a talk show? I've really liked their older podcasts which spend most of their time discussing dos and donts, gear comparisons, Archery equipment, elk hunting tips/strategies, conservation etc.... it just seems to be that it's gotten away from that and every week is a talk show promoting a guide/individual/company or whatever. Some of the ladder are good podcasts too and some are still informative...but in general my favorite things about that podcast seem to be gone... maybe you can only talk about gear for so long? Just my 2 cents...

When I read your post I think of my job as a firefighter. Every day someone cooks for the day - lunch and dinner. Cooking usually sucks because if you have a big firehouse like I do, you are cooking for a lot of dudes, which means lots of hours of work in the kitchen. Every now and then you get some guy who wants to complain about the meal. They don't like fish, there is no flavor, it isn't cooked right, there isn't enough, they don't like salad etc. I just think back to what the 35 year Senior guy said once..."if you don't like it, the kitchen is always hiring.." Which means you can always start a strictly technical podcast if you want.
