Gritty Bowmen question

Gritty bowmen is by far my favorite podcast right now. No Brian in no Aron but as has been brought out that's not a fair comparison. I actually appreciate that he's closer to normal than his guests as it gets the right questions asked. He does a great job moving things along and keeping things entertaining, the fact that he has sufficient experience to add some real world input is just a bonus.

I've only listened to the podcasts featuring Aron as well and they are full of useful information. I'm assuming he usually lets Aron do most of the talking during those episodes because he is learning as well and people listen to those in particular to hear from Aron.

The frequency of "technical difficulties" is not that big of a deal, but you would think he'd figure out how to do a podcast by now without having a mic go out or keeping a better connection. Other than that, it's all gooooood.

Not sure I would say Brian is inexperienced. You have to keep in mind that Aron has a ton of knowledge and some of what Aron says could go right over a new guys head. I think Brian does a great job of keeping the podcasts on track so that EVERYONE can take something from them. Brian asks to have a lot of info "dumbed down"....but I think that's so the guys with no or little experience can keep up.

Overall, I think Brian and Aron (and the other guests) have done a great job with those podcasts. There's tons of info in them.

I love the Gritty Bowmen podcast. I've watched all the video versions and watch the new ones as soon as they come out. I think Brian is a great host. To me he seems like a genuine, down to earth guy, who is passionate about hunting and making quality, DIY films. He asks good questions and interprets info into language some of us less experienced guys can appreciate. I couldn't care less about his street cred, backcountry cred, Hollywood cred, shooting cred, weight lifting and fitness cred, or any other cred. He has great guests, Aron is always my fav. and he is articulate and entertaining. I can't wait to see his new film on the Fulldraw Film Tour. Keep up the good work Brian!!

I really didn't mean to start this thread as an attack against him or his abilities as a host. It's a great podcast and I look forward to new episodes. I hope it continues to grow and gain followers and wish Brian Call and his buddies all the best. Like I said before, it's literally the only podcast I watch/listen.

I was just curious if anyone knew about his experience/history/etc. I could be totally be missing something and he could be extremely experienced....I don't know, which is why I asked the question. To me it seems like he doesn't have a lot of experience. Which is fine. Maybe his role is as host and moderator, inviting experienced guests onto the podcast so he can learn too. That's totally cool--heck, I wish I had all these experienced guys at my disposal for questions each week!

I also like Brian and think he does a great job. He's a great host and knows how to move an interview forward. He also doesn't have to stroke his ego by letting everyone know how big and bad he is or what his "creds" are.. I suppose he asks a lot of general, basic questions because there are lots of beginners that want to know the general, basic answers.

I like it for this reason as well, I still have much to learn and Brian asks questions of his guests that help me out. It has quickly become one of my favorite podcasts.

I loved the film as well. If I remember correctly it was the one where the guy took his older father out on an elk hunt, right?

Completely agree with this statement.

I also think that he has a lot more experience than you have given him credit.
I know one of the areas he mentioned packing out an elk, in a wilderness area in Oregon.
That is one rugged SOB and a hell of a haul on your back.
