I got a new hoyt carbon defiant this past weekend. I am currently shooting arrows out of my other bow since they both have the same draw length which are the black eagle carnivores. But I’d like to go back to small diameter arrows. I’ve decided I’m going to get either the black eagle rampages or the fmj 5 mm or the injexions. What one would you guy go with and why? One thing about the fmj is I can get them at the local store but the rampages is need to either order or drive a few hours to get to a store that carries them, however if i go rampages I’d get a couple dozen to keep me covered for awhile.

I shot Carbon Express before switching over to Goldtip about 20 years ago. Can't help you with your brand, but I have no reason to change.

I've shot both the 5mm FMJs and the Rampages.

I think overall I preferred the FMJs.
But the Rampages had the specs I wanted for my current setup.

FMJs are "tougher". I've broken more rampages than I ever broke FMJs.
FMJs are heavier (could be good or bad), I personally wanted the lower gpi on the Rampages.
Rampages are more consistent out of the box. Every single one was straight and to spec.

Both flew fine and both are proven killers for me. If I could get a jacketed arrow like the FMJ with a lower gpi I'd be on it like a fat kid on a cupcake.

Edit:
I should say I needed a 250 spine for my new setup so the gpi IS significantly different because I would need the "dangerous game" fmjs..
If I was at 300spine and could use the regular fmjs it's not a huge difference...

I have been shooting the rampages and am contemplating switching to the fmj's due to multiple issues with the tips splitting.

I have shot the injexions for a about 4 years now. I love the arrow. I'm not a fan of outserts so these work well. My only complaint is that they do not make havier inserts. I doubled up on the insert and my arrow comes in at 467 grains finished. I have no reason to change or even look somewhere else. For the broadheads, plenty of options to choose from.
