You are digging that little spotter eh? I don’t have a really good way to justify a spotter, but I think I could justify a small one, if for nothing else just taking pics. Just haven’t been that impressed with the mini spotters, but I haven’t looked through them yetI think I have found the perfect glassing setup for my hunting style(mostly elk). I used it all fall its lightweight, fast and effective. Whats your go to setup?

My setup is pretty spartan, 12x NL in the harness and that’s it with an outdoorsmen stud, sirui 024sk and a VA5 pan head
RRS PT-Scout is what I use on my TFCT-34L with an Anvil head. Lets me have a pan head for glassing that can be removed in a few seconds so I can clip into the Anvil to shoot.Need to find a pan head for my RRS
Is the 833 new/in your possession already, or will be new at the end of the next season? If you already have it, what are your thoughts? How sturdy is it while standing if you stand at all?Leica Ultravid 10x42

Nice, I have B6 12x50 and like them so far, though haven't used them a lot yet.Maven B6 12x50
Maven cs1- thinking about switching to something else.
Surui tripod va5 head

For the country I’ve used it in it’s just a little short of power. I thought I’d like the angle version more than I do. Still trying to decide whether to keep or sell.Nice, I have B6 12x50 and like them so far, though haven't used them a lot yet.
What do you not quite like about the CS1?
I had both the Ares G2 65mm and the Cronus G2 86mm for a bit, trying to decide which I liked better. Weight isn't a huge issue for the scope, so I leaned toward the Cronus. Tried out a Kowa 773 for a bit, but the Cronus was actually about as sharp or maybe even a tad sharper in the very center than the 773 (lemon? who knows?). Sold the 773 and bought a MeoStar S2 20-70. I like this one a lot! The image is incredible. For spotting scopes I have used the Athlon Ares G2 15-45 that I picked up for a crazy deal, and while not amazing it holds it's own. Great size and weight, might not want to use it all day but to confirm animals/determine sizes it works quite well. That being said it is the one item I may look to upgrade next season, as the Meostar 30-60 WA looks very tempting.
Yeah I’ve heard those aren’t as good as the Wiser or Tricer tho. Still in the research faze and want to compare all my options. Might start a thread asking about panheads.RRS PT-Scout is what I use on my TFCT-34L with an Anvil head. Used it on a late elk hunt. It is sturdy while standing but will move a little in heavy wind. I prefer to use it seated with the legs out wide, and in that position it is rock solid with the BTX 95Is the 833 new/in your possession already, or will be new at the end of the next season?
