I see some things here and there on the net but curious if anyone has experience with getting a bunch of keyed alike paddle locks? Resources if so. I'm not talking a 4 pack, I mean like being able to order 20 the same type of resource.

With CO's new stupid locked gun case in vehicle law I'd prefer to have a pile of matching locks to use and not keep track of numerous keys / lock combos.

Places like Uline and Grainger are a place to start.

I think you can order as many keyed alike as you want, but confirm it.

You can have one key to open evet kind of lock you own...

Order American Lock, Paclock, or ABUS from any of multiple places that will set up keys how you want (including master key systems).

Stay away from the laches sold by Brinks and Master Lock. Calling those things locks is a joke.

Today Paclock would be my choice over American Lock, but I have American Lock and ABUS. ABUS is great if you want your house key to open the padlock.

Paclock.com

Edit: Those are the cheap options. Stuff like Abloy are overkill.

Don’t overlook local locksmiths. At least the one’s I’ve known keep a supply of padlocks keyed the same for industrial clients.

As was mentioned Master lock are very low security. About 20 years ago I needed a dozen locks keyed alike for locking up job boxes and security cables - just secure enough to keep honest people honest. I looked through multipacks at Home Depot until enough were found of the same key code was easy.

I have these in my vehicles.

I'm more so thinking about having to lock up a bunch of hard rifle cases. We have a new law in CO that you have to have your guns in a locked case if unattended in a vehicle. So just looking to check off that legality box, I'm not directly worried about theft or storing a carry pistol or such.

The law is vague, but I imagine going into a gas station is "unattended" for instance.

I see. Colorado does some weird stuff

Does the law define what constitutes a lock?
If it is vague you could use zip ties. Rules like this are designed to eliminate the laws of nature. Sad we have to accommodate them.

Its gotten obnoxious with the current legislation and they keep piling on. (They're currently trying to ban detachable magazines on gas operated semiautomatics).

I had the same question, since a zip tie counts for making something inaccessible for other transport rules. But considering they require a trigger lock on something in a soft sided case I'm just assuming they require actual locks. But its vague.

Stealing a gun under certain values is merely a misdemeanor on CO, they don't care about punishing criminals or deterring gun theft, they want to make it painful to be a gun owner.
