How timely. Jason Khalipa Podcast discussing how anaerobic training performed in the manner that virtually all Crossfit boxes program, creates series aerobic deficiencies. Around 9:10, he even mentions going on long hunts with a heavy pack and needing an aerobic base and that high intensity does not match up (his words) with that pursuit.

I did CrossFit for 5 years and loved it, I got in really good shape. We had our second kid and had to take a break. I kept doing CrossFit style workouts, but time was limited so I stopped doing a lot of lot of kipping movements as it took me some time to warm up. After a while of not doing kipping pull-ups, handstand pushups. Etc I found I could actually do more strict of everything and my joint health is way better. Also(I know this varies by box you go to) I can adjust the exercise that fits me, i do t have some one yelling no rep because I didn’t drop below 90 on a squat. CrossFit can be great but follow what your body is saying and don’t get sucked into trying to Rx the workout.
