Saw a new bow design I have never seen before. Very intriguing, same bow can be setup right or left handed and can fit in a backpack. Anyone have any experience with them?

Looks almost like a 3d printed riser in carbon. Interesting idea could be pretty modular. I had never seen or heard of it before.

I worked with a guy that had the T18 and talked very highly of it. I have never shot one but it seems like it would take some getting use to and you need a special release from them and the release can get quite long depending on your draw length.

One of the bowhunting mags did a review of it recently. A couple of things struck me, first it retails for like $1600. Many/most guys won't pay that for a Hoyt or Mathews, which has extensive dealer support network, reputation, color options, etc... And if you look online, if you buy it with their pack option, it's $500 cheaper. Not sure what the deal is with that, almost like it's a typo.

Second, and the one I really can't understand, is that the weight and draw length aren't adjustable. I shoot 29"/70 lb pretty much on any of my bows, but I like a little room to adjust, or just the option to do so. Put an adjustment bolt on the frame, some modules on the cams and it's adjustable.

Third, it's so short, I'm not even sure my Last Chance press would get short enough for it...I'd have to check, but I'm not sure it goes down to 24". I'd have to buy a crossbow press if I was even considering one.

Fourth, is there a spot to even mount a stab?

That said, hey, it's original. Good for them in that regard. I'm for sure not knocking them or their ideas.

I sort of want one - even if it is completely un-practical for all the reasons above. Having something that would fit in a backpack would be good for hunting on the crazy east coast. I have some spots where it'd be much easier if it was a little less "in the face" of the non-hunting locals when I was walking in.

I saw a guy on FB that shot a huge free range beef bull on Hawaii with one. That is what made me look them up, said he got a complete pass through with it. There is some youtube videos on them, but I would want to handle one before I dropped that kind of coin.

Hi Steve, I am getting into archery. Just passed my field exam yesterday and have been shooting lots of bows down at Full Curl in Anchorage. Due to having no prior experience and not set in my ways, I can come into this with an open mind. As you know I love light weight rifles for sheep and goat hunting, ie. my Kimber Adirondack like yours and Barrett Fieldcraft. After shooting the Gearhead Carbon T20, I find that it is as accurate and dead in the hand as any of the Mathews or Hoyt that I tried. The compact size and weight difference to the other bows is very significant. This is the bow that I am going to buy. I'll post an update after I get it set up. Now to apply for some Chugach archery tags : )

I shot one of the Gearhead bows a couple of years ago at the Rhinehart 100 in CB. It wasn't fitted to me, so it was just testing what it flt like and I have to say it was fun to shoot and the one I shot was set at #75 (if I recall correctly) and it pulled back ... super easy. The target was at <10 yards so I have no idea how it feels when you shoot at more realistic distance, but it was fun to shoot. I tend to like a bit longer axle to axle bows and for me, I question how well it will hold on target at longer distances given how short it is. Other debates arise on legality in your state, accessories are more limited etc ... For the $$, it's not a rabbit hole I wanted to go down ... but it would be fun to play with (but $1600 is outside of my acceptable budget for a toy).

Interesting design.

I think one of you guys needs to chunk down the $1850 for one and let us know how well it shoots and the specs. /grin

I couldn't find any videos or guys shooting and the groups its capable of. I haven't seen that bow on the podium at Vegas..did I miss it?

Spec says a 23" arrow 350 gr at 70# is 283fps. The thing is a total slug when it comes to speed. I wonder if the very short limbs kill its stored energy or if it can shoot a bowhunting weight arrow in the 450 gr range halfway decent speed?

On top of vegas winnings, I can think of about 25,000 other reasons why guys should be interested in shooting these bows.
