Olin sooner when I replaced my phone scope.

I got the magview first and it was a complete failure from the app not working to the wireless charging sticker not working with a wireless charger.

Hit: Ollin phone scope system & Blackovis realm zip hoodie

Miss: BOG tripod. Biggest waste of money, constantly falling apart and the head is horrible.

Care to explain about the steripen?
I used this on a mountain goat hunt in Colorado. Most all the days scouting in the summer at 13,000 feet its bright blue sky and no shade in site. Very difficult to see if the light actually came on and stayed on. Half the time when I would press the button the light would turn on and then turn back off right away. But when its the middle of a sunny day you cant tell if the light is on anyway. Ended up getting the raging sh*ts after a weekend of scouting and decided to go back to the Katadyn BeFree. Never had an issue drinking water all over the west with the squeeze filters.

Hits: Rocky ranger boots. Been in a pair of them for just about every fall and winter hunt and I can’t say enough good about having warm, comfortable feet.

Misses: MagView spotter phone mount. It’s only good for being a very expensive flip up lens cap and it is probably doing a poor job of even that.

Hit: Swaro nl pure (finally separating ranger finder and binos)

Miss: the three pairs of rangefinding binos trying to get the right balance of optical quality/rangefinding ability/and price for what your getting. IMO the big three LRF binos cost more then they’re worth in one category or anther and if I’m being asked to spend $4000 I better get the best of all of it 😳

Miss: OR Aurora bivy. I revisited the bivy this year. It’s nice but the zipper on this makes it difficult to get in and out. I’ll have to get the zipper lengthened before I use it again.

Misses:
- bargain basement spotter ($300-400ish range), wish i would have listened to advice and waited to dump as much money as i could into a spotter. I don't even pack it around anymore, not worth the weight.
-Steripen ultralight (emphasis on the ultralight model, I have the adventurer battery powered one, works great and i'd consider that a hit) but i even read reviews about poor quality on the ultralights, bought one and it failed out of the box, wouldn't even run 1L before not holding a charge. not confidence inspiring enough for the backcountry.

Hit: MSR Titan kettle one and only pot, cup. $5 Rubbermaid 2 pack jar with leakproof screw on lid from walmart to cold soak my dehydrated meals for an hour or so on hikes back to camp. Dump meal in kettle and warm over my stove, I was done eating before my partner started his peak refuel. Miss Peak refuel meals.
