Replacing strings and cables on my Mathews Lift-XD and am leaning towards Gas System-X strings but have heard mixed reviews on if they truly add 3-5 fps or not. Anyone have first hand experience with them and measured a difference? If so at what at what specs? Heard they help out longer draw/heavier weight guys more. I’m shooting 32.5” DL, 75LB, 80%.

Thanks

I put a set on one of my RX-9's last year and I actually lost 3fps over the stock strings on the bow. 28" 73ish lbs shooting a 483gr arow. I put a set of Freakshow on my other RX-9 same specs shooting a 430gr arrow and gained 3 fps. I was not overly impressed with the System-X and will stick with the Freakshow moving forward.

Durability seemed fine. No issues backpack hunting elk in Colorado most of September. Ended up shooting a bull the second to last day of season. I tend to baby my bow and had it in my hand the whole season, never had it on my pack.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences. I haven’t yet checked the FPS claims as I really don’t care. What I like about them is the stability. I’ve used four sets now and only one experienced any peep twist and none had need for a retune after a bunch of shots. And the one that turned was very minimal. If I am getting more speed, I wouldn’t know. I’m getting 295-ish so it just wouldn’t make all that much difference.

Without a doubt the most durable gas string set I've used. If memory serves, I gained 3 fps at 63 pounds 28.5 DL
