Gas System-X Strings?

Replacing strings and cables on my Mathews Lift-XD and am leaning towards Gas System-X strings but have heard mixed reviews on if they truly add 3-5 fps or not. Anyone have first hand experience with them and measured a difference? If so at what at what specs? Heard they help out longer draw/heavier weight guys more. I’m shooting 32.5” DL, 75LB, 80%.

Thanks

I put a set on one of my RX-9's last year and I actually lost 3fps over the stock strings on the bow. 28" 73ish lbs shooting a 483gr arow. I put a set of Freakshow on my other RX-9 same specs shooting a 430gr arrow and gained 3 fps. I was not overly impressed with the System-X and will stick with the Freakshow moving forward.

Durability seemed fine. No issues backpack hunting elk in Colorado most of September. Ended up shooting a bull the second to last day of season. I tend to baby my bow and had it in my hand the whole season, never had it on my pack.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences. I haven’t yet checked the FPS claims as I really don’t care. What I like about them is the stability. I’ve used four sets now and only one experienced any peep twist and none had need for a retune after a bunch of shots. And the one that turned was very minimal. If I am getting more speed, I wouldn’t know. I’m getting 295-ish so it just wouldn’t make all that much difference.

I think I gained 2-4 FPS on my Lift at 29.5” draw. Very durable and held all specs for a few thousand shots. Seems like measuring such a low gain in speed might be within the statistical error of most chronos???

Had it for over a year and finally replaced when i dry fired my bow

Had I not been an idiot, it probably would’ve had quite a bit of life left in it

Agreed on 3-5 being within statistical error, my guess is there is a small fps gain but legally with wording they can claim 3-5 with a heavy, undisclosed asterisk. But like hearing their durability. My factory match strings have probably 2k shots in them and have some serving separation and more fraying then I’d like. So, good to hear the X’s have lasted you a few thousand.

I picked up solidly 2 poss 3 fps over factory on a standard lift with 28.5 DL. That was measured within .2 pounds on a scale and dead in spec. Honestly I didnt care about the speed and only tested for fun. The d loop material they send is Def lighter than alot of bulk materials, along with less serving on the string overall to minimize weight and maximize efficiency. Results will vary and GAS is pretty transparent about that.

The stability is second to none. I have used lots of quality strings, and these were in the top 3 I have used easily I will be running them on the ARC this season.

I ordered a set as soon as they launched back in late 2024 or early 2025 and had them installed by the end of Janurary of 2025. I gained 4 fps over the ABB Launch strings I had on my lift (they were 2 fps faster than my Match strings from Mathews) on my Lift 33. The most impressive thing about the strings are that I have a few thousand shots through them with zero peep rotation and the timing is still spot on which has been checked every 2-3 months over the year. I don't baby my stuff, I have put the bow through the ringer, public land hunt through thick brush, sitting in a hot and cold vehicle.
So I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the GAS system x strings.
