I tried mine out for the first time today, it was awesome. Just used the included tripod thing and shot a suppressed 22 with cci quiet ammo off the back porch at a 3” steel plate I have hanging out at 500yds.

It seemed like I didn’t really have to be picky at all with where the unit was, it picked up every shot and got my my averages and all that. Huge upgrade from my old magneto speed thing.

I’m looking forward to getting to the range this weekend.

Sniped from LRH post. Looks like LR came out with something new.

They have either been sitting on that for quite some time, or they rushed the design to try and stay relevant. It offers nothing when compared to the Garmin (but looks pretty comparable, other than being picky enough to need an aiming sight). The competition is good, but I think the damage is already done to their market share.

Day late, buck short. I’m a Garmin guy now.
Yeah nuts if they knew about this to just sit while Garmin sucked up the market share. Saw another post over there $599.

If they would have announced even a month ago they likely would have kept their loyal following.

Wonder at which point is patent infringement an issue……

Eh, this one still has an aiming device attached. I’m skeptical it’ll be as user friendly as Garmin is.

Plus they had 8 years to improve Bluetooth and make it less clunky. This is the benefit of capitalism.

Don’t get me wrong….im not jumping from my Garmin. I had mine the week they came out (lucky in stock in store same day as notification).

Just interested by the failed business case for LR. They were the king and I’ve never seen something topple so fast.

It was truly interesting seeing how fast everyone jumped to the garmin. It was that good. Haven’t ever seen a product do that so fast.

For sure. It’s really not that often a product shows up and just changes the game instantly.

My Garmin Xero chronograph showed over the weekend, but I didn't have a chance to open it up until today. I had seen some pictures, read the review, but I guess it never really clicked in my mind just how small this thing is.

I liked using the case for my Magnetospeed for peace of mind, but was always annoyed by the bulk (not to mention having to strap the Magnetospeed to my barrel/suppressors). It was a nice improvement from my old school chronograph, but this Garmin is going to fundamentally change how my range sessions progress. The time saved screwing around with Magnetospeed when testing a variety of loads and rifles is going to be HUGE. As a person with a young family and kids I can't take to the range, time is a most precious resource.

I was also pretty happy to move on from my magneto speed. It was great when I got it, funds were tight and it seemed like a better option than those ones you place down range and shoot through the hoops but the garmin is an absolute game changer.

I think at the time, the MS was the best available. At least when I got mine it was. It was a little clunky to get set up but it provided good data and was generally reliable. Had this been out it would have been the easy answer

I got an MS to replace an older Caldwell chrono. While I liked the MS, I didn't like that I couldn't shoot groups and get chrono data at the same time (for ladders), and mine liked to loosen up after a few shots. After a while, I found myself just using the Caldwell if there was no one else at the range.

With the Garmin it is so easy. I won't be giving this one up for a long while.

For you pew pew purchasers…

How long did it take to get actual shipping date after label created notification?
