Frontal shot with a bow

Took this bull with a 10 yard frontal this season. My first attempt at the shot, and I'm a believer as long as the conditions are correct like has been stated.

He might have been just the slightest bit quartered, but it happened so fast its hard to picture. My arrow penetrated about 12-14". He whirled and blood was just gushing. My arrow came out almost immediately, I found it 10 yards away from the shot. Anyone seen that happen? My best guess is the blood pressure pushed it out.

He ran longer than I would think is possible with this kind of blood loss, about 180 yards. The blood trail was just insane.

Similarly,
I've taken 3 Frontal bow shots on a Whitetail.
Two that were facing me dead on - dropped quickly.
One that was quartering to me - bled badly for miles then stopped, and never found.

Avoid the shoulder at all costs, in archery.

Never on an elk but shot multiple deer hard quartering to and straight on...some of the best blood trails I have ever had.
