This is actually a good thing. The more that other people go out and blast Rokslide, @Ryan Avery , or @Formidilosus for things like using a smaller caliber, hunting with target bullets, and testing scopes, the more that people will come to Rokslide or listen to Shoot 2 Hunt.

If we keep this up, we may just get all the scope manufacturers to produce reliable products......

Exactly. Generate discussion is the key. Get people to actually think instead of just repeating what grandpa told them. JVB just inadvertently got hundreds or thousands of people to go listen to Forms podcast or get on here and read

"fact and science based opinion"

Man I just don't think you know what those words mean.

Not everything can be proven via objective means. Evidence informed opinions are a valid strategy of trying to bridge the gap between what is known and apply it to situations that lie outside of objective proof.

That's all well and good but "science-based" gets thrown around too much as a way to legitimize opinions. I do not think JVB is taking an actual "science-based" approach to all this.

What really got me thinking was how small of a difference there actually is in the bullet size in comparison to the animals we kill with them. So no one would argue that 30-06 shooting 165 grain bullet is a good for elk but most would say a 77 grain is way too small to kill one.

If I did the math correctly a 650 elk equals 4,550,000 grains. So a bullet that is 0.0036263% the weight of the animal is great but one that is 0.0016923% is too small?!?! Its amazing to think something so small compared to the animals actual size does so well.

Math hurts my head unless its multiplying bullet drop. That is science based opnion.

All in on the consumer helping manufacturers realize we want better products. All in on discussions that help people understand more about any subject. All in on learning and productive discussions.

Challenging even "expert" opinion and data should be celebrated and everyone can learn something from someone.

Can you just "stop" being a Mormon??? I'm pretty sure they come after you for doing that.

Ha they can and may continue to bug you until you have your name officially removed from their records and send a letter mentioning something about discontinuing communication with you or you'll pursue legal action.

I live in Utah and my in-laws are hard core Mormon. I hear stories from my wife and her friends who've dealt with some very unfortunate family situations due to leaving the church.

Regardless, my in-laws are fantastic and loving people. We differ in our beliefs but love each other just the same

The only ExMormons that think anyone is coming after them are the ones that make being an ExMormon their identity. Plenty have left and just gone about their life. Left 16 years ago...nobody has come after me.

Someone should ask JVB how much that large caliber helped his brother kill someone else's deer.

Damn everything is coming full circle. Caylen from modern day sniper just had a podcast talking about the drop tests being stupid. Jay from mindful reviews posted this morning on instagram he’s meeting with Caylen and papwinkle to talk about the drop tests and “trends” from forums. Now JvB is making a podcast about Form and Exos smaller caliber debate. We just need everyone to get together and hash this all out.

I don't think a single one of those people wants to have any conversation with Ryan or Form. Let alone a recorded one.

Never will happen. Whether we like it or not, there is a financial benefit in all of this for each side. Rokslide/S2H likes the controversy because it drives people to the site/podcast. JVB and others like it because it drives people to their sites/podcast.

But if you give that same elk an 8” kill zone, then that 223 bullet is only .028 percent of that 8” area (by width actually , I’m not doing the math for area) where the .308 is a whopping .038 (rounded up for simplicity) percent!

You know what Corbland...you are the wisest man here because you hit that damned nail squarely on the head.....it's all about the money. I knew there was some kind of benefit for somebody behind all of this controversy. There always is. You weeded it out. Now the question is...was this all planned out from the beginning? Heck, and we thought politics has no morals.
