Anyone have any experience with this engine in a ford superduty? Aside from gas mileage, and problems that have been caused by excessive idling in work vans I have heard only good things. Thank!

I’ve been happy with my 2022 but I only have ~28k on it. I had a plug wire go out towing on vacation once, swung into a dealer and they confirmed and swapped it out. After the trip I put in a set of Belden wires from Napa with heat wrap on them, I have my old original wires under my rear seat if I ever need a spare.

There was a cam supplier qaqc issue that could rear its head on folks.

'21 7.3 about to turn 90k....No issues with the motor...1st 10sp crapped out at 60k. I towe maybe once a month.
Get the extended warranty
Below is the list of my warranty claims.
I am not going to bother listing recalls can't keep up with those.

Apim module replacement, thats the fancy doodads that works all your screens, GPS, ect.
Transfer case
Transmission
Well hub and abs sensor
Door combo pad
Currently in the shop for new sliding back glass, motor ate the cables.

Still keeping my truck, worked out most of the bugs now...lol

On the bright side you always get loaner when it's in for warranty claim. Ask me about F150s, had 2.7, 3.7, 5.0, and now a Powerboost oost all for at least a week in the last 5 yrs.

There was a lifter recall around '23 to be ware of..buddies 7.3 had the motor replaced at 9k for defective lifters.

All the manfuactues make shit today!
Roll the dice with v6 in Toyota's, 6.2s in GMs, or 10sp trannys with Ford.
Good Luck!
