Wow.....that's awful. Dodge diesel truck have been having software issues, too. So far, no solution, either.

My Farming organization runs 5.0s and I personally buy 5.0s (Ive had a 12', 14', 19' and currently have a 24' with 50K mileage) we usually run them 160K and sell them, we have had some issues, but nothing compared to the Chevy 5.3 and 6.2 engines. 5.0 seems to handle dust better than most engines also. With my personally owned 5.0s, I have replaced 2 water pumps, 1 starter, and 1 wheel bearing; acceptable performance for my needs.
