I've been rooting against the Broncos since the day they announced the Wilson trade. The trade was bad enough, but what they gave up plus that extension was inexcusable with two years left on his contract. They could have parted ways after this season without it costing them another dime. But now it will cost them either way. They'll either be stuck with him next year, or be a huge payout. Either way, George Paton should be working for free for the next 20 years to pay for that, but that still doesn't get all those draft picks back.

Man, the 9'ers just are not the same team without Trent Williams. He's been out four games this season, and those are their four losses. But the Ravens do look pretty good. I enjoyed watching the Raiders beat the Chiefs, and then move ahead of the Donkeys with that win.

Should be some fun to watch playoff games this year, and hopefully some good upsets.

I think Russ is a small part of the problem with the losses. The play calling is just not up to par yet. One thing is for sure, they have to settle down with all the hiring and firing of QB’s and head coaches. Takes awhile to build a program.

9ers will be just fine. Ravens offense is average to decent against good defense at best. Chiefs loss made my day.
They may be fine, but they sure didn't look anywhere close to fine yesterday.

4 picks in a game just is not going to work for a deep post season run so all the 9errs fans pretty hope this is was a really, really bad BP day. The problem is he's come back to earth a bit over the past few games so time will tell.

Tell that to Nick Mullens. My hopes were pretty low, but still. The Vikings had an entirely winnable football game in their hands there…..

Some good games this last weekend.

His problem is that he's blind to the downfield until he can get outside the pocket to see anything. That's why they do so many dink and dunk passes. If teams would identify that, AND corral him in the pocket, he'd be completely useless. I've also noticed this year that he is VERY selective of the passes he does throw, which keeps his stats up.....but isn't all that effective for the team. He has options but just doesn't throw it many times while guys are running free and open. His stats look OK, but his play is easy to critique negatively. They're better off without him and his contract, and Payton knows that too......winning or losing.

No doubt, they got their asses handed to them last night, but I guess that’s probably to be expected when the turnover ratio is 5-0. I hope this was a good learning experience for BP, and regardless, no single player plays lights out in every game, and I do think that he’ll bounce back and be just fine. Fingers crossed they maintain that #1 seed and get the bye, because they could surely use it.

That trade getting rid of Russell and the picks the Hawks got with it makes Pete Carroll and John Schneider look like geniuses. As a life long Hawks fan, no one who actually understands football here wants Russ back. He'd pull miraculous lucky shit out of his ass in the 4th quarter a lot but other than that it was painful watching him play. His best play is what we call the Double Russ Reverse Sack and I don't need to see it again. You'll never convince me he didn't audible to a pass in that Super Bowl and Pete has covered for him knowing what would happen if everyone in the league knew lol.

Audible or sent in, I, for one, applaud the play however it came to be.

On my wall just for reference. :D

85M dead money. It's good to be RW and bad to be the Broncos. Let's ride.
"Let's ride.........the bench".

At this point, the money is not the issue. The cap hit is the issue. The trade was bad enough......even if Denver had only sent over a 7th round pick. But that new contract with extension was and still is unforgiveable IMO.......before ever even taking a snap with the team. SMH

Ya, Pete and John were definitely dancing in the office with the mute button on when George Paton said yes to that deal. NFL's worst trade ever......at least for Denver. Best trade ever for Seattle.

So true @5MilesBack

I think it just underscores how desperate all teams are (or will become) to have even a "potentially" above average QB and risk stupid money to get it.

Eddie

P.S. On an unrelated note, I am rather impressed with how well Flacco is doing. A few too many INTs, but that should correct itself the longer he plays. Oh, and just maybe Mayfield is finally living up to his potential. He's the first QB ever to have a perfect QBR (158.3) at Lambeau a couple weeks ago and the Bucs are on a 4 game win streak.

Still gotta say, $3 mil for the 'shew has been worth it for the Colts. Until they laid down in the fetal position last week in ATL... Bad, bad reminders of 2 years ago vs. Jacksonville, to get in the playoffs - and here we are again.

hmmmm too late fair weather fan, they'll be fine.

Just a realistic expectation of a rookie qb that’s prone to melting down. Kyle shanahan did him no favors either but he threw that game and the other 3 loses are squarely on him as well. All a qb needs to do on that team is not lose the game for them
