Been planning on hunting for years but never got around to it. My dad hunted when I was a kid, tons of hunter friends over the years but never made the leap. My wife and I finally have the time and location to make it really stupid not to start (we have about 40k acres of NF 1 mile past our property) and our county is probably at least 75% public. Whitetail and Elk are our main interest.
For me, hunting is like fishing in that my main interest is self-sufficiency and harvesting clean food. But I also appreciate just being out in the wild and getting exercise and exploring.
