Anyone from the Iowa City or Cedar Rapids area know of a good range nearby? I’m moving there this summer and not seeing much online.

I am from NW IL just across the river from Dubuque but lived in IC for college. I hope you like the area as it has changed a ton in recent years. Check out the Sureshot Range in Mt. Auburn. It is a bit of a drive (1 hour from IC and 30 min from CR) but offers targets out to 600 yards with various size steel. There is not a ton else in Eastern Iowa out to that range, but you should be able to find some closer in the 100 yard range. Good luck with the move!

It’s not a club and to my knowledge no membership, but you can ask him. The range is run by an older guy that charges like 30 bucks (don’t quote me on that) for like 4-6 hours. You get the range to yourself.

If you swing to Des Moines and want to shoot to 600 let me know. As for ranges, Big Springs is probably the better one as it is run by Brownells. It is in Searsboro
