Kuiu.... hmmmm

It may be very difficult or next to impossible to purchase only goods that align with your political interests. However, the attitude of "who gives a shit" is why this country is where it is at now. I may not be able to make every purchase based on who I support and who I do not. However, when I can, I will.

Kuiu is a luxury hunting clothing line. You can kill just as easily in a pair of jeans and a wool sweater. Are the jeans and wool sweater solely sourced and made in the USA...probably not. However, I will do the best I can to not to support a company by spending money on their products when I feel it is in direct conflict to restricting my freedom to do some of the few things I enjoy in life....hunting and fishing.

Yep. Never owned one piece of Kuiu and never will.
There you go Mr. Sitka 😉

"W.L. Gore & Associates faces major controversies, primarily around PFAS "forever chemicals" in its Gore-Tex products, leading to lawsuits in Maryland for polluting drinking water with these persistent toxins, accusations of greenwashing by misleading consumers about product safety, and earlier issues with anti-competitive distribution practices in South Korea, highlighting environmental and ethical concerns."

Let’s not miss the big picture here, we all need to fight for public lands and the access to them. This isn’t exactly about what conglomerate owns what, it’s about the people who think they can take it from us!

Some genius on this thread is going to declare "That's it. I'm done with Kuiu!" and sell all their stuff in the classifieds.

I am not sure exactly how that will do a single bit of good if their "ethics" or "moral compass" do not align with the new owners of the Kuiu brand.

You spent the money already. Stop using your moral high horse to make an excuse to buy more stuff from another brand, brainiac.

If you decide to not make additional purchases from Kuiu, that is another matter - where your action may make a difference, however small and unlikely. But selling off stuff you already own? Foolishness.

SMH.

For the folks that say Kuiu is of lesser quality or mediocre, what brands/products do you find to be better?

I could see folks not only wanting to cease purchasing, but also wearing a brands products. Wearing a highly recognizable product is often advertising, free advertising for most.
Folks tend to buy what they see others using.

How many guys will enthusiastically share this post on Facebook & Instagram, the platform used to spy on people & used to help round up grandmas who walked into a public building. Owned by Zuck who is probably the single, worst human being currently walking the planet. At the request of the deep state commies, he censored & deplatformed the sitting president and anyone who dared to exercise their constitutional 1st amendment rights. I could go on for hours about that POS. How many of y'all still have a FB or IG account? That is 1,000x worse in my opinion

Worst human? Good to know you have no grip on really.

No, I don't have FB nor IG, no I don't like Zuck. But, I'm not a sheltered diva blind to what happens in the world.

By the way, the First Amendment also protects freedom of association and from being compelled to speech one disagrees with. It is why Musk can randomly ban people from X and Trump can randomly ban people from Truth Social. Telling that your indignity spares both from similar offenses against your personal interpretation of the Constitution.

About the only safe thing these days is wear my deer skin onesie that i made from deer killed with my home made long bow with stone tip arrows all made by me. Screw those corporations

You beat me to it.

I was just about to say that the guy who is wearing head to toe buckskin from animals that he killed himself is the guy who’s opinion on these types of issues is going to be the most unbiased.

People are as passionate about brands as they are about whatever religion they believe in.

It wasn’t too long ago that we didn’t have technical fabrics to hunt in.

We all dressed wino style in layer after layer of sweatshirts and denim, and we didn’t decide if we were going to be friendly to another hunter we saw in the woods based on the camo/brand they were wearing… we based our decision on whether we could relate to them based on whether the sweatshirt they had on top was a football team we cheered for or hated.

None of this has anything to do with hunters choosing to spend their money with companies that aren’t a direct threat to public access for hunting/fishing. I don’t have any SM other than forums and I don’t considered them SM.

PETA members don’t go and buy fur coats because it’s not the only option to stay warm. Hunters should only buy from companies that support their passion. Yes it’s hard to find the perfect company, but educating hunters on where their money goes and to whom isn’t a negative thing.

You need to reel yourself in. This has nothing to do with the original topic.
