Been into the forums a few times over the past few years, mostly looking for information from AZ hunters. Moved to Arizona from Utah 6 years ago, for work. Work was busy and not knowing the area kept me from hunting. Made a commitment to myself to get back into hunting this year, for my own well being and to get more time with my sons, age 12 and 19. Did a lot of elk hunting in Utah, but looking more into Coues deer right now with over the counter archery tags available. I like to backpack in for hunting to trim the numbers of hunters I see. Drew a javelina tag for unit 33 in January so I'll try to find some deer while I am there.

If anyone is looking for a hunting partner and you don't mind strapping on a backpack, send me a PM and lets talk.

As the self-appointed chairman of the welcoming committee, it is my privilege to extend a laurel, and hearty handshake (virtual, of course) to our new AZ member.

Hey! I'm up in Mesa and just joined. From Michigan and lived up and down the east coast. Moved out here in 2021. I'm a backpacker for fun, but haven't had the chance to backpack and hunt out west yet mostly due to having two young kids. Getting more free time and long weekends to hunt now. I live right next to Usery if want to meet up and shoot archery

Welcome! FNG in Idaho now but from Northern AZ originally. Drew a Javelina tag for 20c this past spring but was only able to make it down to AZ for a weekend warrior trip and didn't have much luck. You end up having any luck in 33?

I was just in Queen Creek this past weekend...106*F in March, no thanks. My cousin and aunt live there. Moved from Bullhead, which is even hotter! Glad i got out of there in the 80's but i love to go back to visit. My wife had a conference in Tempe and i flew out for a visit.
