Flatlander in IL looking to head to Colorado in 2020 for elk need partner

New to the forum, stumbled on this site during my elk hunting research. It has been almost 9 years since I got a chance to go to Utah to chase Elk , back to back kids and life has just gotten in the way. I have been hunting whitetail in N IL for the last 15 years since I moved from Texas.

Looking to head to Colorado for an OTC DIY bowhunt in 2020, a few of the guys that hunt prefer a gun and guided trip (luxury) hunt and dont want to just embrace the suck of a DIY. Looking for a like-minded partner or group.

Might want to hedge your bets and look at Idaho or MT since Colorado may be going to all draw.

I haven’t heard about the possibility so thanks for the heads up. I am actually putting in for Utah LE for deer and elk cause a buddy lives there and has horses, will add MT and ID to the list.

Massac is a little further south, I’m in Cumberland. Looking at returning to CO or ID next year. Heading to WY this year.

Some zones you can draw without any points. I am going solo in 2020 zone 551. Let me know if you are still planning on making the journey. I don't have anyone to go with either.

Hey Elk rookie, i am looking good for 2020, why did you pick 551, lots of hurt in the Gunnison area. Where are you located in IL

Lucky, I live in SE Wisconsin. I relocated from Texas myself. Picked 551 as the success rate is roughly 23% for archery with a 100% draw rate with 0 points. What do you mean by lots of hurt?
