You also have to think that the wardens might change their approach when they find out breaking the law is being flaunted.

They need to just put a drop box at the trailhead like the walk in areas...you can just deposit your 150 bucks in it when you leave your truck...it would save everyone a lot of time and they could focus on actual game violations.

The fact that we went from napster to karens demanding that we not be allowed to openly question the state on the internet within one generation is insane. This attitude is antithetical to the American Ethos.

I'll never get over seeing how the majority of "Americans" across my great country mindlessly followed the Unconstitutional edicts of governors during covid and how many were quick to turn you in if you dare defy them. The memory alone literally brings tears to my eyes.

It's time we returned to the American Ethos where we tell the state to F off at the very appearance of it crossing the line of authority given to it by the Fed or State Constitution. The peaceful disobedience of unjust laws is one of the most powerful nonviolent tools we have to combat an over reaching state. When you deny that tool, when you deny even being able to openly discuss nonviolent tactics, you make violence the only viable tactics.
You're getting flamed but I agree with just about everything you've said in this thread.

Guys who "follow the law" just because, even if there is no moral/ethical fabric behind or legitimate reason for said law are an enigma to me as well.

My hunting partner and I are in the same boat looking for a WY homie and just using it as a reason to get a new hunting buddy and friend in a cool area. Might as well make the most of the stupidity of the law I guess.

The crazy part is that I've never once advocate for NR to begin openly defying this regulation, yet. I've tried to make the logical argument as to why this regulation is unjust because all Americans are fundamentally equally entitled to enjoy this land. And more importantly why it's important to have a forum for exactly this type of dialogue. I naively expected the other side to come back with rationale as to why this regulation is necessary. I was prepared to have that civil conversation. Unfortunately this thread was full of the loud ignorant type who are more interested in throwing their own feces at one another like a bunch of baboons.

To give some level of credit to some, a few did try to make an argument using the existence of similar regulations in other states as to justify the righteousness of the WY regulation. Unfortunately, I was unable to address this argument politely without insulting ones intelligence due to it's absurdity. "Bobby does it, so why can't I?" I tried to ignore it. hoping somebody else would step up to that task. The story of the last decade is, if nothing else, the ability of a loud. obnoxious, and vocal online minority to force their extreme views on the majority.

Unfortunately, they're not the enigma. Men with a principled and moral foundation are the enigma. It's the job of the home/education system and society/religion to instill these into children/young men. Unfortunately our education system was overtaken and reconstructed to produce mindless and obedient peasants and our society has become overwhelmingly secular. People do inherently require a since of common ethics and in the absence of religion people have and will replace it with the state. These results are natural and inevitable. However, that doesn't mean they haven't been artificially accelerated, e.g., destruction and demonetization of the traditional nuclear family.

Another joke? This one I got. Made me laugh. Well done.

Somewhere between here and there
It’s a dumb law. Period. It provides residents an escape from NR hunters and gives a benefit to wilderness Outfitters. There is no legitimate safety reason. Period.

An old friend of mine works for WYGF and I love pitching him grief about this stupid law.

That said, it’s been upheld in the WY court system and unless someone can get their case moved to the federal courts the USSC isn’t ruling on this anytime soon.

The WY legislature has about zero impetus to take this on given 1) the strength of the outfitter lobby and 2) it benefits their residents.

Complaining about it without a plan to attack it is like Groundhog day for as long as I’ve been hunting.

Make friends in WY.

You're talking about the same guy who spent a week in WY with a general tag and couldn't find an elk and it was the fault of them not allowing him to drive his OHV everywhere horses went.. WTF is he going to do with a wilderness area if he cant figure out how to find an elk in western WY without driving a UTV down horse trails?

You almost hurt my feelings, until I realized how hard you must work to not drown in your cheerios.

Don’t forget the mental breakdown when he sees a tree laying on the ground. 😂
