Flated Truck Toppers

The cloth material does fine in the bitter cold. The window also does fine if you aren't using it. If you're opening it and folding it, it just gets brittle and can crack. The other option is a mesh back window, but then you'd get a ton of dust in the bed, so I haven't tried it yet.

I have left my truck outside in some pretty good wet snows. I've only had it for a couple years, so I think the biggest was about 10". The metal frame is pretty solid for static loads spread evenly across the top, especially when the material is tight, so I wouldn't be worried about snow load unless you started talking pretty crazy amounts like over 2 ft.
Thank you for the information.

Man i just come to say that @RGMissoula you seem like a stand up dude. You could have jumped on here and tried to sell them hard and never said you were part owner. The fact that you came on here said your an owner and I'll answer any questions without pushing anyone to buy it so far gives you creditibility in my book.
Oh man.. I learned my lesson early-on trying to be a fake in the Tacoma forum. They got nasty. I actually look at this page a lot for my personal hunting info. I just randomly noticed a bunch of web traffic coming in from Rockslide so in my mind it's better to be transparent. We know our product isn't for everyone, for many guys they should buy a full time topper, for some they should buy a softopper. We just invented something different and have put everything into it and it's going well. Just sold our 6000'th topper and our customers are stoked.

I'm happy that I can share some of our hunting content in this space. The social platforms punish us hard if we show any blood or guns in any posts.

@RGMissoula I will just say, your employee Hannah that was at the show in PA is top notch. She answered all my questions and was awesome to deal with. Just waiting for it to warm up in PA before I purchase so its easier to install.

Where are these dealers? Softoppers are in the running and the cheapest I have found them is 11-1200 bucks. If I could get one for 800, that would probably push me that way.
I just did quick search amazon has them for Tacoma's $800 and change. There's a few other's around the same price. The window issue is age old. Jeep soft tops last awhile but as soon as you use them they will scatch no matter how hard you try. The sun tears them up too. They chalk up after a few years. Nature of the beast.

My concern with storing it would be the crease's and if they would crack after time. Living in the desert everything dry's out. Very cool and convienent if you don't run a shell full time.

Can these toppers fit over/around the rails for a low profile tonneau cover? That would be real slick if I could leave the tonneau cover on and rolled up and put the topper on and off as needed.

Wondering the same thing. The FAQ section of their website says “possibly”. It would be ideal to be able to keep my cover on for when I take the topper off. I don’t care to drop that level of coinage just to find out it won’t work. I guess I could return it but that’s still a PITA.

If the Tonneau cover tracks are flush mounted with the rail of the truck, then it normally works. In most cases have to take the cover off, but can leave the tracks.

No experience, but very interesting. The storage box would be nice if it could act as a transport cooler for meat. Take up why less space than coolers.
ya that would be pretty cool... would open a lot of space up in the bed.

The Storage box can be used as a cooler, not as insulated as a yeti but would work great for the "drive home" land we are working on something for next year much bigger to be able haul meat.

Saw one of these in the wild last week. It appeared to have some sag in the roof center section and overall fit seemed a little iffy. Lots of curled up flaps that made me really question it's ability to keep things dry.

I have looked at these a few times for my Tundra. On the fence. I think I love the concept but the pictures I have seen on Tundras the cap looked a little ugly. It was higher than the cab and even appeared a hair long. For that reason I am leaning towards a soft topper.

It does seem to be a great idea especially for someone like me that only wants a cap for a few week out of the year.

Cool deal. I have considered the flated decks because I dont want a decked system in my truck all the time, but think it would be a decent compromise to make a raised surface for a bed and have some storage underneath.
