Fishnet base layers. They work, and you want them.

Reading this brought back memories of the 70's, We wore fishnet long johns snowmobiling back then. I was a kid so I could not tell what they were made of, but they worked well. I will admit we also wore nylons and they worked great. I know here it comes. I was stationed at Mcmurdo, all the Navy had was cotton, very little poly. we froze our butts off on some days. Korean war vintage gear.

You guys were issued cotton at McMurdo? What era was this?
