Came across a man & women walking their dog in an area I was turkey hunting this year. Saw them going in then saw them leaving in a hurry. Caught up with them and found out their Lab was bitten over the eye by a rattlesnake. Had to carry the dog about mile and a half. Then drove them 4 miles to their car. Hopefully it all turned out well! I told my buddy the story and he went in the same area a couple weeks later. Came across another Rattlesnake at the same creek!

Thanks Kevin. Big lens is not always needed when they are just little pissed guys.

Wow, that's awesome mtmiller. Just a little bit scary looking on the edge out of my comfort zone even with a little critter but awesome that you have that picture of you taking a picture of it. I just guessed it was taken with a longer lens and a few more feet out. My bad. :)

Just saw two last week in Hells Canyon both babies one barely had a rattle and the other no rattle.

The one that was on the trail somehow I saw as I was cruising along and stopped dead. The other two guys couldn't believe I saw it at the speed I was going. It is now dead!

I was recently told the adults only release venom into things they can eat but the babies are not as smart.

Yes, the old ones are the best at controlling themselves per say.
