Finally, some jail time.

Nice! Some with lifetime hunting bans and some up to 15 years. None of these guys will legally be able to hunt anywhere in the states forever or for a very long time.

Rarely see jail time. Nice!

Issuing lifetime bans are worthless with poachers. They didn’t follow the law then and they won’t follow it going forward. Always find it laughable when poachers get license revocations, as if that’s really going to change their ways.

Crazy that they were able to use their phone data to get em.I know that’s common but it still surprises me that all that stored

I’ll take it a step further and say that a “lifetime ban” like at least a couple of these guys got is probably actually counter productive. It virtually eliminates any chance of them ever changing their ways and going to do it the right way. I’m not at all condoning their actions, but as someone who loves to hunt….I’m going to hunt.

In the case of a lifetime hunting ban, there is now nothing ever encouraging them to do things the right way whatsoever. Need a little meat for the freezer? Guess they’ll go shoot a couple does right about March or April just as fawns get closer to dropping. See a nice buck down the road? Guess he’ll get whacked around August or so, long before anyone else gets much of a chance at him. Not to mention the fact that now suddenly they’re probably going to hunt (possibly in excess) while not paying anything at all towards licenses and permits.

One can make the argument that these guys probably didn’t care too much about the rules in the first place and I’d probably agree. Something tells me that they definitely won’t now, though.
