Fierce Firearms Disaster

Bought a CA Ridgeline in 300 WSM. Tight bolt with factory ammo, tight bolt and pressure at lowest powder charge on reloads and no speed. $300 neck turning setup helped slightly. Back to CA “all fixed”. Same problems so I had enough with the semi-custom-production rifles. Looked at Fierce but didn’t want to go down the same rabbit hole for twice the price. Had my GS build me a custom rifle on a Bighorn action, Bartlein barrel and McM stock. Not much more than a Fierce and he can shoot it 1/4 moa. Glad I didn’t go back to the so called semi-custom rifle route.

Sounds like a nice setup. What did he charge you?

I bought the action $1300, stock was $900, bottom metal with 3 mags $500, trigger $200, barrel with machining $900 includes bedding stock. Add in $100 for cerakote and I shipped out the stock to get dipped plus a TB suppressor $1k. I’ll post pics when I get it back

I'm glad this quickly came up as a thread in the search results. I just emailed them yesterday about lead time on a Carbon Rival-FP in 7 PRC. It sounds like these were all rifles that were ordered years ago. I'm wondering if QC has improved with them bringing barrel making in house. It sounds like the owner is not great so I will go a different route anyways.

I've read through alot of this thread and figured I should share my experience with fierce. Also to the op, that's awesome your son is doing well man. Was reading through the thread and it's crazy how unimportant it made rifle issues seem.


Anyway, I purchased a fierce edge 28 nosler in November of 2020. The rifle is currently back at fierce for the 3rd time.

The first time was because it was ejecting brass straight up into the scope causing it to bounce back in the action causing a jam. Every time. Common sako 85 problem but I talked to someone at fierce who told me they fixed this issue in their action. Obviously not on mine.

The second time was right after I received it back. The first round I fired completely locked the bolt up. I had to basically hammer on it to get it to open. This one is very interesting to me because it never did this before i sent it
in.

The 3rd was because it was completely failing to extract about half the time. I was always feeding from the magazine as well. A cleaning rod had to be used knock the piece of brass out. If this happened in the field it could have been very costly.

The weirdest thing about all this is it seems like everytime I got the rifle back it had a new major issue. Fierce cs has been mediocre. All this took place over 2 years. So needless to say, they are not very enthusiastic about cs.

I know alot of people like these rifles. And they are accurate. But my experience has been extremely time consuming and frustrating.

I’m sorry the OP has had such an unfortunate turn of events. My prayers for the little one’s health.

I recently bought a Fierce Fury Carbon in 7mag and couldn’t be happier. The action is smooth, fit and finish is good and accuracy so far has been lights out.

Last thought - there’s usually more than one side to the story. This thread is pretty lopsided in my opinion. I’d buy another fierce based on my limited exp

I too like the fact that the Fierce is a Sako clone but after watching Mogle (when he was with Christensen) shoot a smallish coues deer in MX then start talking about shooting the buck for meat and feeding his family, I knew he was full of crap (can’t bring meat back). First class douche bag.

Glad you got some satisfaction and still have the rifle as proof!

I've been looking at some Fierce rifles, but this horror story is making me rethink. Granted everyone has a lemon or two get through, but there was so much overlooked so many times it's scary. Couple that with horrible customer service and the hassle of lawsuits it sounds like there's a lot better options.

Fierce is welcome to reply to the thread and tell their side. Since they have not responded I suspect they won't admit their failures and don't care about losing a couple of orders. Fierce lost my business, new and used.

I'm sure if fierce had answered the phone with a friendly tone, asked for a picture, then immediately emailed a return label and fixed the rifle the OP never would have made this thread.

Just in the time this thread has been up they could have fixed the rifle.

The correct action imo for a rifle to show up with no rifling, would have been to e mail a 2 day label, rebarrel it, test shoot it make sure everything was gtg and 2 day it back. With a bunch of swag in the box.

Some little inconvenience thing would be one thing. A blank barrel thats just embarrassing, and should have been taken care of immediately.

No kidding, there’s a lot of small issues that can happen during the manufacturing of a rifle. Sending it out the door with a barrel blank installed shouldn’t be one of them. I can’t count how many breakdowns in QC had to happen to allow this to go out the door. If I were the GM of Fierce manufacturing, I’d have wanted this rifle back in my hands and replaced it with a rifle that had been triple-checked.

Only problem with a new rifle is then they have to ship it to a ffl for a new background check.
Vs ship it back to you if they re work your action.

For instance in Oregon I mite not ever get another new gun.

Just to be clear, the other side one gets from inmates is usually excuses, bullshit, and "anyone's fault but mine."

I may just be being redundant as it sounds like we agree, but the idea someone might think I'm defending Fierce is more than I can bear.

FWIW, I know they were originally using Pac-Nor barrels but they may have switched to someone else, or even in-house after Pac-Nor burned down. I have a Fierce Fury in 300RUM and it’s a tack driver, but I would probably go with a Seekins over Fierce if I had to choose today.

Is Fierce on this forum? Now that I think about I dont think Ive seen any representation from them.

I tried to talk to them about purchasing a riffle at a show years ago. They talked down to me like I was 5 years old.
